Rocket Launch!

On a crisp Saturday morning, the Cedar Water Bottle Rocket Competition brought an exhilarating blend of science and creativity to life, with aQuellé water bottles soaring through the sky. This engaging event provided students with a hands-on opportunity to apply principles of aerodynamics and physics. Participants meticulously designed their rockets, carefully shaping aQuellé bottles while considering critical factors such as the centre of pressure and centre of mass. To optimize flight performance, students incorporated features like stabilizing fins, streamlined nose cones, and adjustments to the bottle’s length and weight.

The competition showcased the students’ ingenuity, as each team aimed to craft a rocket with superior aerodynamic properties. The winning design, launched at a precise 40-degree angle with an internal pressure of 7 bar, achieved an impressive flight distance of approximately 230 meters, demonstrating exceptional engineering and aerodynamic efficiency. The event not only fostered a deeper understanding of scientific concepts but also inspired teamwork, innovation, and a passion for STEM among the participants.
