Career Exhibition
A two-day career exhibition took place on May 13 and 14, 2025, at two different venues: the Civic Centre in Greytown (Umvoti Circuit) and Fabeni Hall in Msinga. Cedar was represented at both events, with different team members attending each day.
Day 1: May 13 – Civic Centre, Greytown
Two students from the Foundation Phase program at Cedar, along with a staff member, attended the exhibition. The event was attended by approximately 1,200 learners, divided into three large groups. Each group participated in a cycle of institutional presentations focused on academic offerings, admission requirements, and application procedures. After each session, learners were given around 15 minutes to visit the exhibition stalls.
Approximately 70% of the presentations were delivered in isiZulu. The event was formally opened and closed in prayer. The mayor of Greytown was in attendance for the full duration and addressed the learners with motivational messages. He also publicly acknowledged Cedar’s presence. A former Cedar student, now teaching in the area, was also present and conveyed greetings to the staff.
Day 2: May 14 – Fabeni Hall, Msinga
The second day of the exhibition was held in Msinga and attracted around 3,600 learners, also divided into three groups of about 1,200 each. Presenters spoke to Grade 12 learners about career planning, the importance of working hard, and the need to seek direction regarding their future paths. Cedar representatives shared information about the institution’s educational programs and emphasized the opportunity for those interested in missionary teaching roles.
Both events provided opportunities to inform high school learners about further education and career options. Cedar representatives participated actively by presenting and engaging with attendees. The exhibitions were well attended and structured, with a clear focus on guiding learners in their future academic and career choices.
