Professor Johannes van der Walt visits Cedar

From 11-13 September 2024, Cedar had the honour of hosting a seminar titled "Writing a scholarly article” presented by Professor Johannes van der Walt. The seminar covered each phase of the academic writing process in detail.
Day 1: Professor van der Walt delivered a comprehensive, day-long seminar to all staff, addressing a common challenge faced by aspiring scholars: connecting sections of an article
into a unified whole.
Days 2-3: The following days featured a workshop, during which Prof. van der Walt provided both group and individual guidance on refining article manuscripts. His tried and trusted “funnel approach” to scholarly writing was a central theme. Prof has held similar workshops at multiple institutions, resulting in significant increases in research output.
