Mezirow’s critical transformative learning approach steered the participants in their endeavour to answer the research question: How can a participatory and collaborative action research approach enable educators to develop an understanding of learner behaviour in their classrooms and develop relationship-centred strategies to support themselves and their learners in dealing with school discipline in rural secondary schools?
